Our Story
Synapsa, the company behind TherapieDecken.de, was founded in 2013 out of necessity. A young boy with autism urgently needed a weighted blanket, but most blankets available on the market were unaffordable. That's why the founders decided to make the blanket themselves. One blanket quickly turned into many...
The blankets were initially sewn in a small apartment and mainly sold in Poland. Now, we are in a large, modern building with over 100 employees. Our weighted blankets are purchased and appreciated by customers from all over the world. Since each blanket is handcrafted with great care, our employees are at the heart of the company. A good and fair interaction with each other provides our team with a positive working atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable. Our employees come from all age groups and contribute their unique characteristics.
We also make an effort to include people with mental and physical disabilities in part of the manufacturing process. We are proud of our high-quality therapy blankets and the sustainable and environmentally friendly manufacturing process, which takes place entirely within the EU. We take our responsibility to our customers, whether children or adults, to provide the best product very seriously. Our therapy blankets are intended to give you peaceful and healthy sleep, and our employees a workplace they are happy to return to every morning.
Our Mission
It is our wish and our goal to reach as many people as possible who can benefit from a weighted blanket. There is great interest from hospitals, care facilities, and kindergartens. We will maintain our high standards for the quality of our products and continue to expand our company to help as many people as possible who suffer from stress, sleep problems, or developmental disorders such as ADHD, autism, Asperger's, or Down syndrome, and to solidify our position as market leader in Germany.
Our Social Responsibility
As a company, it is important for us to offer high-quality weighted blankets and to satisfy our customers. It is also in our interest to take responsibility in all work steps, as well as to develop awareness in dealing with people and resources.
How do we succeed in achieving these goals?
1. Support for children's and old people's homes
Are you wondering what happens to the returned blankets? The blankets are given to children's homes and nursing homes, which often cannot afford such a purchase. We want to support children and seniors who can greatly benefit from the advantages of a weighted blanket.
2. Collaboration with Organizations
Therapy blankets can help people with autism, which is why we support several organizations that focus on therapeutic options for individuals with autism. We want to contribute to helping people with challenges and deficits achieve greater well-being – even beyond our regular sales.
3. Employment of people with disabilities
We consider every person equal, which is why we also employ people with intellectual and physical disabilities. The working environment is adapted to the disability, if necessary, and every person has the opportunity to develop their skills and strengths.
4. Environmentally friendly production
We promote sustainable production with the understanding that economic performance, social responsibility, and environmental protection are inextricably linked. The entire production process takes place in Europe – from organically grown cotton in Spain to the use of green energy and strict waste separation during production in Poland. In addition, we attach great importance to fair working conditions for our employees, who are actively involved in implementing our environmental goals.
